Welcome to The Broad Street Guest House! The first Kosher Bed and Breakfast
in Charleston, South Carolina. Rabbi Ari Sytner, the Orthodox Rabbi of Congregation
Brith Sholom Beth Israel has certified The Broad Street Guest House as Kosher,
under the "Palmetto K" (Vaad Hakashrut of Charleston). The Innkeeper,
Hadassah Rothenberg, has artfully decorated this 1800's home to be warm,
comfortable,
and accommodating for individuals and families with children. Each suite has
photos and tasteful family heirlooms and Judaica, as well as a kosher kitchenette.
The Broad Street Guest House was built circa 1884 and is located in the historic,
charming neighborhood of South of Broad. 133 Broad Street is 3
1/2 stories tall and just as inviting on the outside as it is on the inside.
As you enter the house, you are immediately welcomed by the oversized foyer,
leading to the parlor with a warm fireplace for the colder months.
Each morning you will delight in a home cooked breakfast featuring fresh baked
breads, seasonal fruit, and a selection of entrees. Shabbos dinner is serverd
every Friday evening. Guests enjoy conversation and prayer around the dining
room table. Hadassah's recipes include homemade challah,
glatt kosher contemporary and traditional dishes to satisfy your body and soul,
and delectable desserts. Guests are also invited for Shabbos lunch. Dining
is offered in the elegant dining room, or outdoors on the spacious piazza.
